About TrimmTrack

TrimmTrack turns your broker's Excel export into a live portfolio tracker and puts the valuation tools you actually decide with right next to it. This page explains exactly what it does, with which data, and with which limits.

What TrimmTrack is

A web app for individual investors. You upload your broker's transaction Excel (or add positions by hand) and get the portfolio marked to market: realised and unrealised P&L, dividends, return since inception and IRR. On top of that sits a layer of valuation and analysis tools you can run on your own holdings or on any listed company.

It is an independent project, with no advertising and no broker commissions.

What is included

Where the data comes from

Prices, FX rates, fundamentals, dividends and financial statements come from Yahoo Finance. Prices refresh on a daily job and can be refreshed manually; the weekly history feeds the portfolio evolution chart and the risk metrics. Company logos are served by logo.dev.

Your portfolio data comes from the file you upload: TrimmTrack does not connect to your broker, unless you use the optional verification with a read-only Interactive Brokers Flex report.

Third-party data can be delayed, incomplete or wrong. Always check a figure before acting on it.

How the models work, at a high level

Simple DCF: projects earnings per share (or free cash flow per share) at a growth rate for N years, applies an exit multiple to get a future price, and discounts that back at the return you require. The result is the highest price you can pay today and still earn that return.

Reverse DCF: the same model solved backwards. Given today's price, what constant growth would the market have to be assuming?

Graham number: V = EPS × (8.5 + 2g) × 4.4 / Y, the interest-rate-adjusted revision. A fast, conservative screen rather than a precise valuation; growth is capped because the linear 2g term over-inflates beyond a point.

Monte Carlo: runs the simple DCF thousands of times, varying growth and the exit multiple by a standard deviation you choose, and shows the distribution of fair value (P10, median, P90) instead of one falsely precise number.

FIFO: matches each sale against the oldest open purchases to compute the realised result — the rule Spain applies to fungible securities.

How the analyses are written

Analyses are written by the TrimmTrack Editorial Team and published with a visible publication date. Each one starts from the company's published accounts and the same market data the rest of the app uses; when a figure comes from an external source, that source is linked. They are not buy or sell recommendations, and there is no sponsorship arrangement with the companies covered.

The qualitative commentary on company pages (strengths, risks and thesis) is written in Catalan. Where no translation exists yet, the other language versions do not show the Catalan text: they link to the Catalan version and keep all the quantitative data, which is translated.
